Lejre Land of Legends is located in the hilly area of Sealand, only seven kilometers from Roskilde. You can reach us from anywhere on Sealand in under an hour. There’s lots of space for your car, since we have approx. 300 parking spaces, right by the entrance.

Are you with the train and bus?

In the main season, we have a bus running to and from Lejre Land of Legends.

Take the train to Lejre station, and take bus 233. It goes directly to Lejre Land of Legends, and its departure times are set to match the trains to and from Copenhagen. You can find the departure times on DOT’s website.

If the weather is nice, you can take your bicyle – it’s a beautiful ride.

On a bike from Roskilde station

The bike trip from Roskilde station will take you about an hour at a regular pace.

Come out of Roskilde the right way!
Drive west from the station up Jernbanegade, which turns into Borgerdiget. From there, drive left down Helligkorsvej, and continue down to the roundabout. You’re not on the national biking routes 4 & 6. From here, you can follow the signs, who will take you all the way to Lejre Land of Legends.

The trip goes out of Roskilde, through Svogerslev. You’ll be quickly through the little city which has almost merged with Roskilde. On the other side of Svogerslev, you’ll get the feeling of being on the countryside – and rightly so! The road is high, so the hilly landscape opens up for you and your feet will be thankful of it. If you come at the right time of the year, you can even enjoy the sight of the yellow rapeseed fields.

The bike path will take you under Lindenborgvej and through Kornerup. A steep turn to the left on a steep hill will put your thigh muscles to the test. Catch your breath again and fill the water bottle by the little countryside church. On the graveyards, there’s always water to be found and usually also a toilet available if nature calls.

From Kornerup, it’ll go swiftly into Gl. Lejre. Shortly after that, the road becomes gravel, but before making it to Gl. Lejre you’ll come past the original stone ship setting, which Lejre Land of Legends has reconstructed on its area. Down past that, you’ll bike past Lejre museum. There, you can learn more about the ship setting, and a lot more about the archaeological finds of the area.

From here, there’s only a couple hundred meters to Ledreborg Allé, where the last challenge awaits. Don’t forget to enjoy the linden trees, who will hug you in their greenery during the summer. The road will then take you past the forest and along the golf, and soon you’ll find yourselfs driving right onto Slangealléen, towards Lejre Land of Legends. Follow the signage that says Sagnlandet Lejre. Leave the bike outside the shop, and explore us on foot.
